Science of Dissemination and Implementation: Methods and Measurement

There is a recognized need to close the gap between research evidence and clinical and public health practice, but how is this best accomplished? Although emerging as a field of research in health and medicine, dissemination and implementation science is as yet underdeveloped. The National Institutes of Health the third annual Science of Dissemination and Implementation will provide a forum. This year's theme is 'methods and measurement'.

The Society for Prevention Research envisions a wellness-oriented society in which evidenced-based programs and policies are continuously applied to improve the health and well being of its citizens, fostering positive human development and citizens who lead productive lives, in caring relationships with others.

The SPR Annual Meeting provides a unique opportunity to advance this vision by providing a centrally integrated forum for the exchange of new concepts, methods, and results from prevention research and related public health fields; and by providing a forum for the communication between scientists, public policy leaders and practitioners concerning the implementation of evidence-based preventive interventions in all areas of public health.

Global Implementation Conference

The inaugural Global Implementation Conference will focus on resolving some of the vexing problems associated with the practice and science of implementation in human services. The Global Implementation Conference provides an opportunity for people to learn about the importance of implementation, organization change, and system transformation. More importantly, the Conference is a place for implementation scientists from around the world to form relationships and find a common cause.
